Dusty Blue in the fall?

Jessica, on October 28, 2018 at 11:24 PM Posted in Style and Décor 2 13
Hi ladies!

My FH and I had been leaning towards March of 2020 for our wedding (haven’t officially set any kind of date), so I was hoping to do dusty blue, blush, and shades of grey. My BMs already found a dress in dusty blue that everyone loves.

My fiancé and I ended up falling in love with a outdoor, lakeside venue that is in Northern AZ so they have beautiful leaves in the fall. We are considering moving it up to October of 2019, or maybe pushing it back to October of 2020 to have the colorful backdrop.

Do you think these colors will still work? I’ve thought about incorporating navy blue or burgundy l to make it more fitting for fall... or maybe I should pick all new colors?

Any recommendations for a color scheme for an outdoor fall wedding?

Yes they work! I’m having my wedding in October 2019 and my colors are steel blue and sage. I actually got my inspiration from a pin that was “rustic fall” colors!

Some people like to take their cues from scenery or the season, but nothing says that you have to. More people don't than do. Like water and the sky, shades of blue are all season colors.

Hi Jessica! I think dusty blue will still look amazing, especially at your outdoor venue! I think having the dusty blue as the dress color, you could incorporate burgundy or cranberry in to the decor and flowers! I'll attach photos for inspiration!

I am getting married next month and I am using Steel blue, ivory, and greenery. I think your wedding will look great with your colors regardless of the season

If you want to incorporate more traditional fall colors with the blue and grey, I'd suggest florals in gold/burgundy/orange/brown and then including things like dusty miller, thistle, and dusty colored succulents to pull it all together

Hi Jessica! Have you thought of using copper tones and dusty blue for your wedding decor? I think that is the perfect fall color pallet! I'd love to hear what you think! Smiley smile

I LOVE this idea! We are doing pretty minimal decor (lanterns, candles, and greenery on the tables) but I think I could tie it in! This is definitely going at the top of the list!

Copper, rust or cinnamon, and dusty blue are favorite contrasting color combinations. And copper or rust blend with all fall leaf colors, and also look great against grey rocky landscapes, fieldstone and slate floors or paved walkways, stone walls, stone fireplaces. Making dusty blue the clothing color ( and accents) means every photo will show people bright and clearly against the fall landscape, a good choice to my eye.

We are doing dusty/denim blue (a little darker than some of the lighter dusty blues I have seen) for fall! I think it will still work if like you said you incorporate darker colors!
