Dyeing Bridal Veil

Anonymous, on August 23, 2012 at 1:32 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 5

Hi all

So I though it would be super special if I wore my mom's veil the day of my wedding! I have a little cutting and to do as she got married 30 years ago and her veil is very bulky looking but my biggest issue is the color. Her dress was white while mine is ivory. I have been reading other blogs about what other bride to be's have done but I wanted to put the question out there on my own too!

The general consensus I have read is that I need to use tea bags on the veil and that I must keep it straight when dying it! Meaning not just crinkle the veil up in a pot but lay it flat.

First, what kind of pot would it be possible to do that in? And who here has done something similar? Just looking for other advice!

THANKS LADIES!

Hi Amanda ~ welcome to WW

Can you snip a little off the veil to do a test run?

I would do a test first. Who knows if it will dry darker or lighter.

Next. If you have a bath tub... I say make some tea in the tub. The Veil should be able to be flat in there.

Hope you stick around and tell us more about your wedding plans. If you do stick around, please change your picture so we remember you next time. Maybe a picture of a tea bag? LOL

    ~ congrats!!!

Thanks Hayley and Jen! My biggest fear is that I will stain the bathtub... I can do it at my mom's house Smiley smile

Baby pool would be the best option comparatively.
