So just for fun, I bought a veil (David's Bridal WPD19719) off Poshmark for like $40 - I thought the lace would actually be a good match. It turns out the laces matches my dress perfectly -- and I love the appliques across the bottom! According to the DB website, it only comes in white. I sorta thought the color was close enough - but my mom insisted it was too light for my dress (Dress is Ivory with Oyster lining) and after looking at it a couple times when at their house (it's living in an empty closet there for now). I had some lace & tulle swatches (which are standard/stock colors anywhere) from Blanca Veil I'd ordered a while back -- David's "white" veil actually meant the tulle was Light Ivory, while the lace was white!
So we cut off some small swatches of lace from near the comb of the veil (we're going to sew and thin some of that fabric down eventually because it looks like the cap on an "Old Maid" card). We dipped it into some very diluted tea for just a couple of seconds. The tea-stained swatches of lace matched my dress perfectly! We're going to do the rest of the veil this weekend so I will be sure to post the "After".
I'm so proud of my $40 + the price of tea bargain! If it fails --- i'll just order another LOL.
