Dying Sola Flowers...

So tonight we began our quest on dying our own sola flowers. Once we got the hang of it, it became pretty easy and things moved at a good pace. Tonight we did all the pinks, with the exception we have a few more sola flowers coming that will also need to be pink. Tomorrow we will do the orange ones....

So tonight we began our quest on dying our own sola flowers. Once we got the hang of it, it became pretty easy and things moved at a good pace. Tonight we did all the pinks, with the exception we have a few more sola flowers coming that will also need to be pink. Tomorrow we will do the orange ones. After everything is dry we can start assembling all of our projects. Photo is just some of the flowers we dyed tonight.

If you need to dye sola flowers..just mix acrylic paint with some water and then dip your flowers in. When you dip them, you have to do it rather quickly so the flower doesn't become too saturated and end up turning into mush.

Hello, I know this is an old post, but I'm looking for some answers.
I have my Sola flowers and plan to dye them this week.
I see you let them dry on paper towel. How often did you need to turn them so the paper didnt stick to the flowers?

If there are any other bits of info for dying Sola flowers, I would appreciate it! Thank you!

Not sure if this is timely enough to be helpful for you, but I tested out dying a handful of sola flowers a couple weeks ago and let them dry on some wax paper. I dyed them later at night, I think I turned them around a little the next morning and everything seemed fine. I thin the trick might be, as others have been sharing, is not to saturate them too much. I also tried to make sure they dried with the pretty side up, so even if the part touching the wax paper dries a little weird, it's hidden when they are put together.

    Good luck!

I've actually dyed them and had my wedding already, but I'm sure this will be useful for other brides! Smiley smile I let mine dry on paper towel, pretty side up, over night, then flipped them upside down onto new paper towel to let the bottom dry better. Smiley smile
