E-vite Invitations

LeLuHuBa, on January 22, 2022 at 11:57 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 3 12
In need of some input on invitations.

I don’t want to have invites formally mailed out to invited attendees. Instead I’d rather have a graphic e-vite and message it out. What are online services available that I can choose a template close to my theme and alter the text to my save the date specifics.

Thank you, I checked it out and like the idea of animated envelope delivery w them but I didn’t want to individually add addresses. Unfortunately the cost was also adding up. I did find a free one in Canva that I was able to alter to my needs and save both a psd and jpg to text or whatever to invitees. I did appreciate the input.

I didn't want to mail my out either. I figured that is a waste of money and the invitations are only going in the trash. So, we decided on using evite.com. You are able to send out via text or email which we loved. Most people will respond faster on their phone because they have it with them 24/7. For some of the older generation it wasn't as welcomed but they eventually got it or had help doing it. My guest coordinators also helped those who needed assistance. Once they replied to our early registration we created a wedding website on here and this is where they will find all things pertaining to the wedding. So, everything is being done electronically which will save you hundreds of dollars (depending on the size of your guest list). However, we are sending physical Thank You cards after the wedding with a picture inside. After all many guests will spend money to travel and to get you a gift so we want to thank them with a card and a photo they can keep.

Yes! That’s how we feel but we’re not even requesting RSVPs, just need to let people know the specifics. We’re planning 100-150 and it’ll be what it is. I did get about 20 printed to hand out just in case to the older generation. That’s a good idea on Thank You’s though. We aren’t requesting gifts as it’s both of ours 2nd marriage and we have what we need but do have a bird cage for cards. There will be a few who travel so I’m going to need to think about that more. Again, Thanks for your input.

Sure, you're welcome. What's beautiful and a little scary about the times we live in is that almost anything goes. So many old traditions have gone out the window and in regards to weddings it allows us to be free and plan "OUR" wedding however we choose. I wish you the best on your special day.Smiley heart

Speaking as someone who has received electronic invites, be aware that not everyone takes them seriously. We attended a couple different weddings where the only thing sent was the e-vite and it came across as very casual informal. On the day of the weddings, next to no one showed up because many said they were waiting for paper invites that never came.

You can use canva.com or zazzle for e-vites. They have a lot of customized templates

Update: I received my small order of Canva invitations in the mail today and I have to say that I could’ve done better taking them to Walmart! Unimpressed with their quality. I’ve taken design, typography, layout, color theory, and printing courses in college and these are horrible! I’ll stick to my e-vites image definitely!!!!

Thank you for making this post, I want to send digital invites and paper invites to the older gen as well and wasn't sure what site to try. Since I know the older gen likes to save thing like this and I want to use for the lay flat photo, I still need to figure out what site to get the paper invites. Thank you again!
