Hello! So FH and I are in the middle of planning a brunch style wedding! We love the idea of our family’s coming together in a more laid back atmosphere. However, there’s a bit of a dilemma! We have our venue booked for the wedding ceremony - which starts at 11am and the property must be exited by 12:15pm! Due that timing we booked our reception 13 mins away at an event space. I’m trying to figure out when to start the reception? We have to decorate the space after the wedding, as well as set up our own food, drinks, music (we’re opting for no dj) , etc? Just fyi we’re choosing this route for money purposes- we have a smaller budget ( due to being young college students ) and want to really make the day special with our families by outsides. Any suggestions? Positive vibes only please 💖

The idea of decorating the night before certainly would make the wedding day go better. But it does require people helping on a separate day and someone who knows how things should be set up. So many venues however don't allow the early setup -- maybe for liability and staffing reasons.

You have to also make sure what the booze requirements are. Most venues don't allow bringing your own. Others will still have a corkage fee. The issue again can be liability concerns and then you might want to have a limit on drinks.

That’s true! I’ve been looking on thumbtack since someone suggested it earlier and have found a few people to do the decor, food and drink set up for $600 max which sounds like an amazing deal to not have to stress about it. Also this venue is allowing us to bring our own alcohol since it’s just wine and champagne 🍾. And they just announced they now have in house catering ☺️!! Wish me luck
