Early hmu start times

Just a little background info to start!

Photographer wants everyone ready by 12:30
Me in dress by 1:001:30 - 30 min limo from my home to Venue2:00 first look, photos, portraits, etc4:30 ceremony
9 of us getting hair done, 8 getting makeup! My HMU team wants to start at 7:30 am, and I said okay! She assured me we can all be ready by 12:30. No concerns at all until my MOH expressed concerns about her face being “melted off” by the ceremony because she’s getting her makeup done so early… so now I’m concerned. Has anyone else started early and had good look with makeup lasting? Hair too? There’s so many of us, I don’t think we have a choice. I wasn’t worried until she said that. I feel like now that the wedding is approaching, every little thing and/or comment is making me stressed. Help!

Your MUA should be using professional products that will ensure the makeup lasts all day. This is not something I would be worried about. My MUA even gave me a touch up kit (I got my makeup done at 5:00 AM because I had a morning ceremony) in case I needed it. I didn’t, and my makeup still looked great when my husband and I went out to dinner that night.

It's not a concern at all. I had hair and makeup done starting at 8:30am. Our ceremony was at 5pm. Makeup was still perfect. By the time the night was over (after midnight) and I went to take off my makeup it still looked as good as it did when she was finished doing it. That's why you pay good money to have it professionally done. Tell her not to worry. She'll be fine.

My mom’s friend got her makeup done at 6 am for her son’s wedding. It still looked flawless by the end of the night and even the next morning because she didn’t wash her face before bed.
If you MUA is professional and uses good quality products there is nothing you need to be concerned about.

Agreed with all other commenters. Professional H&MUAs do weddings as a huge part of their business and know how to make it last. I was once in a wedding in the dead of August and it was insanely hot and humid and my hair and makeup did not budge for 16 hours. I would not worry about this one at all!

Yes, agreed, definitely no problem - they'll set your face with setting spray. I am a bit concerned about how many people that is though, unless you have 2 makeup people? because if I'm reading this right you need to get 8 faces done between 7:30 start at 12:30... that's only 5 hours, which is slightly under 40 minutes a face. It's not impossible, but it does not leave any room for error, people being late, etc, whatsoever. I'd want to build in just a bit of a buffer, if it was me.

😂 okay good! I feel a lot better now ladies. I’m gonna have to tell my sister to get over it, it is what it is lol the more I think about it, I’m sure she’s more out off about having to start at 7:30am, rather than her face not lasting
