Early pregnancy symptom or PMS?

Mrs., on September 10, 2013 at 4:15 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 4

Wondering your opinion ladies...my monthly cycle has never been regular i actually get my period every couple of months. The Dr's have said as i get older it will regulate and its completely normal. i have gotten my period monthly for the past 3 months or so and this month i have not gotten it yet(i should have a few days ago). for a few days i have had a few symptoms headaches, bloating, tiredness, swollen breast, cramps, backache, slight nausea ect... most are the same symptoms as PMS right before your period, except i have always had a symptom-less period. sometimes my breast feel a bit tender but that's about it. I have taken 2 pregnancy test they both said negative (i did buy them at the $tree but i read it shouldn't matter). the problem is i don't know when to take a pregnancy test because i don't have regular periods all the time. could the test be wrong? maybe i have just been other thinking these symptoms? all i know is i have not felt normal for over a week.

It may be too early for the test to detect pregnancy.... It's based on your HCG level. Not everyone gets symptoms... I knew I was pregnant when I had "cramp like pinching" pains in my abdominal area... But more than anything, I just had that feeling. Took a test and now I have my baby girl laying next to meSmiley smile I was sooo tired and nauseous but this was a couple of weeks into my pregnancy... Wait another full week, and take a test on your first morning urine. (They say that's best, but if you're pregnant, you're pregnant!) and most of all, if you think you may be, go see a doctor. I went just to verify after my home test was positive... And dollar tree tests work just fine!

I think I remember hearing that pregnancy tests don't work until at least 2 weeks after your missed period... Is that right?

@Amy - I don't think so. Most advertised tests now show that they can detect pregnancy 5 days before your missed period. Thing is that, stress, weather changes etc mess with our Mother NatureSmiley sad so it could just be delayed.... But if its not, it's definitely something to be thrilled aboutSmiley laugh

Dollars Tree tests are accurate, but they're not early detection tests. I had all kinds if crazy symptoms when I was of the first time. The second time I had no symptoms, and only tested to rule out a pregnancy when my period never came.

The waiting is stressful, so I'd try a different brand of test. Good luck.
