Early September Wedding in Dallas, tx

Maddy, on July 18, 2020 at 11:06 PM Posted in Texas Planning 0 4
We are planning a Labor Day wedding during this COVID madness and it’s almost impossible to plan, especially with Texas being the hotspot of positive rates! Our original day was Monday (9/7/2020) at an arcade bar in downtown Dallas. But since the COVID rates have been spiking, we are planning to have a smaller backyard wedding on Sunday (9/6/2020) for our guest to be more spaced out and feel more safe. We are expecting around 60 people to come, and most of them are from out of state and country (Dominican Rep.). We have been watching the rates closely and just been going back and forth if we should call it off and postpone. When is the best time that we should call it off? Or should we consider it sooner? Anyone else just feeling overwhelmed like I am?

Oh girl, yes ma’am! Right here! I’m in Plano & supposed to be married August 23rd in Denton County. We decided today that we will only have our families there & have a big celebration next year. I’ve been Ms. Positivity for months and now I’m breaking down. We don’t feel safe traveling for a honeymoon & I haven’t had any showers. Our main concern is the health & safety of everyone else. I’m trying to change my thinking and only focus on the positive but lately it’s been hard. Hang in there and I wish you all the very best!!! ❤️

Hey Niki! Love the positivity! Go us Texas Brides trying to get through this madness! We just decided we are going to have a small wedding in my parents backyard with anyone that is comfortable with coming and having a live stream for everyone else. As for my Dominican side of the family that can’t make it, we will just have to visit them and celebrate later with them later when this is all over. If you need a vent sesh, I am totally your gal! 😉

That sounds like a good plan Maddy! Smiley star The travel restrictions and local situations keep changing so quickly it's so hard to keep up! I think your new plans make a lot of sense and give you much more control over the celebration. Smiley heart
