Easiest way to share photos from a selfie booth?

Jillian, on July 13, 2018 at 2:51 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8

I am putting together a selfie booth for my wedding, and want to provide 2 options for guests taking photos. Guests can use their own devices and tag with our wedding hashtag, of course. (MIL has a selfie stick already, so we'll just put that out.) I'd also like to have an iPad on a tripod available for guests who want to use the remote control clicker for photos. (And then we have all the originals!) In my dream world, we could set it up so the iPad photos automatically upload to some kind of public album guests can access; we'll have a sign with the link posted or something. Is this a real thing? I keep finding "shared album" tips, but I can't go through and manually invite every guest on the list... Help?

You could always just take the photos on the iPad and then assign someone (maybe your MOH?) to upload everything to DropBox the next day, or you could do this if you have time, and then share the dropbox link with your guests via email and Facebook messenger. They wouldn't go home with the photos but they'd get to still look at and download them.

The only thing I can think of might only sound good in theory, but here goes: Instead of having the camera application for the iPad photos, use snapchat. Guests can upload each photo to the snapchat story as they take them. Then anyone who is friends with that account can see them. Potential issues: need wifi, can only take one photo at a time, photos only up for 24 hours. But you could easily save the photos from the snap story and keep them forever.

Wait not to sound stupid, but 1) what’s a selfie booth and 2) you can buy a remote clicker to take photos on an iPad?! Where do you get this and what’s it called?? That’s a fantastic idea haha

You can also keep airdrop open on the iPad and have people airdrop their photos to the jpad

Not stupid! I'm using "selfie booth" to describe a photo booth situation where I don't have a photographer or actual booth thing to take photos, people take them themselves. So we have a backdrop and props and stuff, but people take their own pics. I'm looking at this tripod: https://www.amazon.com/ChargerCity-Periscope-Streaming-Vibration-Bluetooth/dp/B00TL59BQ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1531514046&sr=8-1&keywords=selfie+booth+tripod&dpID=51pkjUiLgbL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch for the iPad, but people can take as many selfies as they want on their own devices, too. I just want people to be able to access the photos from the iPad ASAP, since I know folks will want to post to social media, but I also want to hoard all the originals! Haha.

I'm interested in finding a similar app. There are a lot out there some cost money, some don't. Some make guests register, some don't. Veri is the only one I've found that will automatically upload pictures taken during an event. Other ones like WedPics and PhotoCircle require you to manually upload. I believe they both have an in-app camera, though, so you might be able to have the app open and any pictures that are taken will go straight to the album....maybe.

I've just been searching for shared photo apps on my phone, installing them, and sending album links to my mom and FH to see how the guest experience is. So far PhotoCircle is the easiest but I'm leaning towards WedPics.
