Eiffel Tower centerpieces

Tee , on May 9, 2018 at 4:11 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 23
Has any one worked with the Eiffel Tower centerpieces before? I’m concerned that the flower arrangements will be too thick to fit inside the centerpiece.

I plan on using about 8-10 flower stems for each centerpiece.

Please help, send pictures if you’ve ever used these centerpieces or plan on using them.

Buy one and do a trial of the arrangement you plan to make.

I am going to be using 24 inch tall eiffel tower vases for some of my floral centerpieces. A very good friend of mine is a florist so this isn't a DIY for me. I do recall her telling me that she wasn't going to stick all the stems into the vase though (at least for mine) .... there are "balls" you can buy and you then stick the shorter flowers into those balls and the ball sits on top of the narrow vase.

I thought about that but then I thought of more money being spent. My FH and I have a tight budget so buying those balls only means that We will have to spend more $$. I mean it is a great idea. But if it comes down to me having no other choice when I sample it then I will consider buying the ball.

How will the ball stay on top of that narrow vase? Will she be gluing it down?

They will need to be weighted at the bottom I put sand in mine to prevent them from tipping over

Here is my eiffel tower centerpiece I'm using in the buffet area (still working on it). I posted another picture of how I mounted it on a small round 4" plastic plate I got from the Dollar Tree. They come 5 in pack I think. I mounted it to the eiffel tower vase using Gorilla Hot glue and E6000 (both sold at walmart). It helped to stabilize the florals.

Just a suggestion: If you mount it on a foam half ball you will be able to get more flowers on it and created a fuller look. If you only want to put a few flowers in the vase maybe using a larger wisteria bundle or a floral spray bundle would work to give you a dramatic or full look without having to put so many individual stems in the opening and not having enough room. You can also use a smaller foam. They sell the square ones at the Dollar Tree and it would give you enough room to attached a few florals and still look nice and it's cost effective.

The half foam ball is not expensive you can get it cheap at walmart and even cheaper at the craft store if you use a 50% off coupon. I got mine as low as $3.

    Thankyou this was helpful.

Things seem so much harder when you’re not crafty at all😫 Im gonna go out tomorrow to get Everything I will need!! I’m having buffet style at my wedding as well, it’s really cool that you’re adding florals to that area. Beautiful work by the way.

No, they are all roses, but you could use hydrangeas, of course.

For some reason they remind me of Hydrangeas . But yes I’ll be using Hydrangeas. I like the fact that I won’t need much since they are very full. I may add a touch of Peonies and flower berries for my Table Centerpieces.

That sounds lovely. Yes, hydrangeas will work out nicely because they are full and you won't have to use so many individual flowers.

We did! Bought 7 Eiffel tower vases. Very narrow, you can probably only get a few 2-4 stems in each? Using a foam ball on a stick, then sticking flowers on the ball is the way to go. We did that but stuck feathers into foam ball. The long stick we used had lights on it which was super-cool at night (no good pics though).

Is your venue outside or inside? We were not prepared for WIND. And it was bad that evening. Those vases are easy to tip over. We even glued them to a wood base but they still had to be taped down. Ugh. Nobody saw the clear packing tape once it got dark. Wouldn't use these again outside. Too risky.
