Electrolysis

Briahna, on December 7, 2019 at 7:55 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 5
Has anyone ever tried electrolysis? I’m looking to get it done under my armpits and bikini before the wedding! I’ve read all up on it and had a consultation ready just hearing you guys thoughts! Thanks!

I have done laser hair removal but on my face. Some hair grows back but could be due to hormones but much finer than before.

Yes. Did it for a long time. Its sooo tedious. I switched to laser in the end and its been a lot more effective for me

I’ve been doing it on my lower stomach and bikini line for 2 years. It takes forever but it’s worth it. I barely grow any hair in the treated areas anymore so I should be done soon.

I plan to do my armpits next but I got an at-home laser to try to reduce the hair before that. Otherwise that’s also going to take forever too. If you wax or epilate currently it may take longer than if you just shaved.
It’s painful. I have a high tolerance for pain so I actually enjoy it but the bikini area is particularly painful from what I read.

It’s important to note that it is not permanent and that it takes several different appointments to get desired results. It is painful even with numbing in tender areas (such as bikini area or close to the bones of your knee/shins). There are also other restrictions so it’s really important to talk to the NP (or whoever is doing the treatment) about if it is safe for you (for instance if you have ever done a tanning bed it can cause burns).

Electrolysis is miserable. It takes for ever to get done and it hurts like hell in my opinion. I would not do it again. (This was only for a few hairs on my face.)
