Elopement in Chicago? Help!

Nicole, on November 14, 2019 at 8:23 AM Posted in Illinois Planning 1 3
Based on various factors, my fiancé and I are seriously considering eloping in Chicago. To salvage as much money as we can, we would like to keep the same date, which happens to be a Sunday in June of 2020. Assuming that city hall is closed, what are some other options for elopement locations for us at little to no cost? We are looking to keep it as just us as a couple and our photographers/videographers.

Hey Nicole! Have you looked into any elopement companies? They are often able to offer packages that include an officiant and a photographer/videographer.

You could hire a Chicago based officiant and find a park or outdoor space that does not charge to hold a ceremony in. Have you already chosen your photographer?

I haven't used them but kept coming across them while planning our smallish Chicago wedding.

You could have a ceremony at a nondenominational church. Or there are lots of ministers so to speak that you can hire. You need to get a marriage license though and that will never happen in Chicago on a Sunday. You can stand on the beach and get married (I plan on doing that with 40 people or so ). You can go to the Willis Tower (former Sears) and have some cool pictures with the cube that hangs over the city.
