Hello! I am recently engaged and we plan on eloping in August of 2018 and then having a reception back home (Indiana) We are thinking about going to Oregon and staying a week and a half but I was wondering if anybody has any tips, ideas, or advice? I am having a hard time finding much help searching...

Columbia River Hotel in Hood River has a great little wedding area and it overlooks the Columbia Gorge.
I have lived in Oregon all of my 42 years and have not ever been to a more beautiful place than the Columbia Gorge.

Are you still planning on doing this? I was just curious on how your planning has been going and what you found out on the best places to see? I am also from Indiana and planning a wedding in Oregon in September 2018. We won’t have but a couple days there to really look around though so I’m trying to figure out what all we can put into that time without overwhelming ourselves.

I mostly just want to know the best places to see and eat within an hour to two hours drive of Portland (we are staying there and driving to Hug Point for that day). I’ve googled many places, but it always helps to ask those who have already been there. We are limited on time and have not visited Oregon before so I really want to make the most of our short time there!
