Eloping! Reception afterwards? Dinner?

Hailey, on April 14, 2022 at 9:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 2
My fiancĂ© have gone back and forth about eloping and we were wondering what on earth we do after an actual elopement ceremony! 😝

Do we have a nice dinner afterwards? Do we head to a venue with the few people we’d like to be present at our elopement? Do we schedule a reception for a later day? We don’t know anyone that has eloped so we don’t have anyone to ask about this so I thought I’d try here! đŸ€—
I know we could technically plan it any way we want, but we’d LOVE to hear about what others are planning/have planned!

My husband and I "eloped" two weeks before our big wedding.

We had a photographer, went somewhere pretty, and read love letter/vows to each other. Then signed the papers with our two witnesses, and went to dinner with them.

When we were done with dinner we went home and talked about our lives and when we went to bed we read the letters (because we both kind of forgot what the other had said in the moment haha!)

It was perfect! I think having dinner afterwards made it feel really special Smiley smile

    Hi Hailey!

We're having an intimate wedding (15 ppl) and we booked a small event room at a restaurant nearby for a late lunch after the ceremony. Most of my FH's family is coming from out of town so we figured it'll be nice to celebrate with them while they're here. We have a couple more people joining at the lunch only as well. We're keeping it minimal but still special so we do have a few decorations for the restaurant otherwise we just want to celebrate with our close family and a couple friends. Like you said, you can make it what you want but hope this helps!
