End to end rectangular banquet tables

Mia, on February 21, 2018 at 11:06 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5
I'm planning to place 6ft rectangular table provided by the hall end-to-end to create 5 long tables. For anyone who's done this, did you do floor length linens? Floor length on the ends and short sides? Did each table get a linen or did you look for one long linen to cover all tables at once?

I'm doing one linen per table, each floor length. But I haven't decided for sure to put the tables together or separate yet.

You're not going to find one long tablecloth, unless you have it custom made.

It is usually less expensive whether you are buying or renting,to get all the same size.

I figured I would just make it if I wanted a long one-short sides. Or buy if I cover each table individually. It just seems like a lot of cloth squashed between tables if they are individually wrapped and pushed together. Is it hard then to push the chairs in if the sides are floor length? I'm just curious what others are doing if they chose this setup. Most google images are round tables.

The cloth is about 1/16" thick. The two ends would then be about 1/8" together. There is no bunching of fabric. The cloths fall straight to the floor.

Floor length linens present a more elegant and formal look. Shorter linens are more casual. They also expose the folding metal legs of banquet tables, which aren't the most attractive. You could do shorter cloths in the middle and longer at the ends to cover the legs from the end view.

This cloth is linen so it drapes more

We also used long tables end to end. I think we actually put two tables together to create the width as well so that there would be plenty of room for our garlands, candles and place settings. The event rental company we used said that we needed "King's drape" linens which are extra wide and long. They are more expensive, but it created that elegant look we wanted with floor length linens. I took these pics with my cell phone, so the quality is a little poor, but it gives you the idea of what the linens looked like.
