Engagement dress: Help!

I think it’s a very pretty dress. My advice is wear what makes you feel pretty because that is what will really show up in your pictures. If you’re comfortable and feel good, your confidence will shine through.

I agree with Kristen. Wear something that makes you feel special and pretty. I really like that dress and think it would help contrast with the greenery, so it would be a good choice!

We took our engagement photos in a park and I wore a couple things that were brightly colored (a red sweater and a pink dress) and a couple that were more muted and the pictures that turned out better were the bright ones. I agree with PPs though - you should definitely wear what makes you feel beautiful, because it will show in the pictures.

I think it looks great and would go well with greenery! If you're hesitant definitely ask your photographer! I asked mine before we got ours done and she gave great suggestions on what looks good with certain backgrounds and lighting!

I like it! Off-the-shoulder dresses always look so elegant and beautiful in engagement photos. I agree with what others have said that you’ll look beautiful in whatever makes you feel the best. As a 5’10 girl I feel you on the difficulty of finding a dress! If you’re looking for more options I would recommend Lulus. A lot of their dresses are super long so I had plenty of dresses to pick from for my own engagement photos.

I have very broad shoulders and probably wouldn't go for an off the shoulder dress with a straight neckline like this, but you know your own body best. This would make me look too broad and boxy.

As for the color, as long as it is flattering against your skin tone and your fiance's skin tone it will absolutely pop in photos. I'm a photographer and I shoot mostly nature and wish that red was a more flattering color on my hubby and me because it looks so striking against greenery or a vast landscape.

I agree with the general rule of wear something that you feel pretty in. It will come through in your photos in the way you carry yourself.

Also for most engagement couple shoots there is an opportunity to do an outfit change. You can always bring a few options and get your photographer's opinion.
