There are a bunch of venues for weddings and other pre-wedding events like engagement parties, and they've all got reviews from newlyweds who used them. I would take a look through there to see if you find anywhere you think would be a good location for your engagement party.

If none of those options fit your bill, you could always look into local restaurants with private rooms to rent or somewhere like a community hall or VFW. Those usually run at reasonable rates, plus you can bring in your own food if you want.
