All i did was have a dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It's not really necessary in my book. But our opinions differ. 💜😘 congrats to all of you bride and groom-to be's

Not necessary, unless you are into tradition

Not necessary. I don't think anyone around me has done this. Only something I've seen in movies

Not necessary. People will be able to celebrate you at the shower and wedding.

We didn't have one. We had small dinner dates with family and friends but no big celebration all together.

Not necessary, for me it's just another event to plan and another expense to pay for.

Totally not necessary. As long as the people you want to know you're engaged know you are, then what's the point of having a party for it? It just adds to the expenses when that money could go to other things

Probably not necessary, but we did it. My mom threw it at a restaurant I've been going to since before I could even walk. We told everyone that presents were not necessary. We liked the idea as a chance to bring everyone together to celebrate and get to know each other before the wedding. I'm not having a bridal shower, so this was the one pre-wedding celebration.

Not necessary at all. That was just another headache to plan and throw money at in my opinion.

I skipped the engagement party. I am planning to have a stand up Buffet in the church foyer as a rehearsal dinner replacement, also.

Not. I might can see it if they're planning a longer engagement, and also if they're people who just enjoy hosting parties, but neither of those are me. My FH & I took a trip with one of my besties and her husband to go meet my other bestie in Kentucky right after our engagement. So I feel like that was engagement celebration enough.

We skipped it and no one offered to throw us one. We weren’t going to have a party for us thrown by ourselves.
