Engagement party ..

We did not have one and actually never even thought about it. I don't think they are necessary but hey, if someone offers to throw you one, why not! It is totally up to you.

Congratulations! An engagement party is mostly to announce the news to friends and family who weren’t present at the time of the proposal. It’s something that’s trendy now but definitely not a must. Alot of couples do ut themselves or it could also be a surprise engagement party by friends or family members.

You don’t HAVE to have one. We had one so that all of our closest family members could meet before the wedding. Now, a lot of them are close since then so it worked out for us. But it’s definitely not necessary it and it’s possible to have one without spending a ton of money. we paid 150 for our rental space and had family cook. It was the best. Wedding August 10th 2019 so if you don’t find it necessary, don’t have one. Some people have specific reasons. it’s not required, just traditional in society.
