Engagement Party

Tessa, on January 3, 2021 at 6:17 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7

I really want to have an outdoor backyard party, so it is fun and light-hearted but I still want it to be very classy. So I'm thinking of an evening time, with lots of string lights and banquet-style style tables. I'm also thinking about possibly having food trucks instead of a traditional catering style to keep it fun. Does anyone have any ideas that could help? Pinterest is kinda failing me on this one. Thank you in advance!

Look up backyard wedding and follow the same pattern. I say what you are doing is nice and maybe have a semi casual dress code? I think the decor and food can set the tone. You could do some more classy appetizers and maybe a cute signature cocktail. Make it wedding-esque.

How many people do you plan on inviting? I have been to numerous events with food trucks and it can take a while to get your food so if you are planning on having a lot of people in attendance this might not be the best option. The other issue could be parking because depending on where you live the food trucks might not have a lot of places to park especially with your guests taking up parking as well. You don't want to upset any of your neighbors because you've taken over the street with cars and food trucks.

Veronica brought up a very good point. I went to a coworker’s vow renewal & she had a food truck- took a long time to get our food.

Have you considered a taco cart rather than a food truck?

My family has a decent chunk of land in the country so I am not super worried about parking, but the guest count is a great point I didn't even think of! How many people do you think would be the limit? I definitely would hate for everyone to be standing around hungry.

It probably depends on how many food trucks you plan on having. I know one event we went to and they had one truck and there about fifty of us and it took forever for everyone to get their food.
