Engagement photo makeup issue

C, on September 21, 2020 at 2:03 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11

Typo in title should read "issue"**

I went with a hair and makeup artist for my engagement photos that had wonderful reviews and lots of experience. Unfortunately, the concealer she put under my eyes seems like it was applied incorrectly and was visible in photos FH took of me before we had our engagement shoot (it was really light and definitely not blended correctly. Do wedding photographers typically correct skin tone issues like that in photos? I unfortunately didn't have time to fix the makeup before my shoot. (hopefully the photo helps for an idea of what I'm dealing with - still don't want to post a photo of my full face on here)

Daughter's really wonderful photographer did editing, but I'm nearly certain he wouldn't go through and "fix" make-up issues in many photos. Maybe one or two close-ups. Are you concerned about the engagement photos already taken or about what may happen with your wedding photos?

Doesn’t look terrible, but I can kind of see what you’re referring to. We are waiting for our photos back and received a few sneak peak pictures and she did not edit much from what we can tell. Honestly probably depends on the photographer and their skill and editing programs. I would reach out to the photographer and tell her your concerns and go from there!
    Best wishes.

My photographer fixed a really noticeable makeup line in my engagement photos for me, but I wouldn't expect her to go through all of my wedding photos and do the same given that there would be so many more photos to edit.

I'm just hoping she can for the engagement photos. I'm having a different makeup artist for the wedding (and definitely a trial beforehand)

I'm worried about it for the engagement photos that have already been taken unfortunately

It wouldn't hurt to ask! I know mine was super sympathetic when I asked her to fix mine. Fingers crossed you can get yours fixed!!

Thank you! Did you ask your photographer if she could fix it before or after she gave you the photos?

She sent us two photos the day after they were taken, and I asked her then. It did add about a week onto the timeline of when we got all of the photos back, but I was so glad that I asked.

Did you ask the photographer if she could fix the photo? Usually the photographers do the edits, and it's okay, because you are paying for the result that will satisfy you. If she rejects (which I highly doubt but still), you can fix it yourself, many photo editors like Photodiva have auto-tools that delete all the wrinkles and color correct the skin tone. But ask the photographer first.
