I suggest wearing your favorite outfit, or at least something that you feel completely comfortable in! If you're uncomfortable in what you're wearing, that might show in the pictures. The beach is a beautiful place for pictures! If you're planning on taking pictures in the water, maybe do a knee length dress or skirt? Otherwise,

For mine, I wore the dress I met FH in, which happened to be my favorite dress. Mine was a knee-length white sun dress and heels. I agree that you should wear something you feel really great in. It will definitely show if you feel insecure in the outfit, if it's uncomfortable, etc.

From what I have seen on photography blogs, couples wear a wide range of clothes, even a few outfit changes ranging from casual to dressy. Pick what you are comfortable in in a color that is flattering. If you don't normally dress up, then you have the potential to appear awkward subconsciously in photos in a dress, etc. Wear what fits your style and personality.
