Engagement Photo Outfits

This is what we wore I had a beige knit sweater and green jacket and he just wore kahkis and a flannel
We were going to get dressed up more but it didn't feel "us"
I would say wear what your style is but a slight dressier and you will be fine. Your engagment photos show case you as a couple so they should reflect your style in my opinion.
And you also cant go wrong with any style at the beach. I love the classic Jean's and white shirts look

We wore jeans and a tank top/t-shirt and the photos were taken in our apartment and down our block. Was nice to capture our lives in our happy place as an engaged couple. Coincidentally our colors were blue, gray, and white but didn't realize just until now and wasn't a factor when we planned our outfits.
Do what you're comfortable in and feels right to you.

This is what we wore for ours.... we did one casual outfit and one a little bit dressed up. We did these in May but are planning to do more soon for winter (we have had a long engagement, wedding in June). Our outfits for that shoot are pretty causal too - I’ll be wearing a cozy sweater neutral tones and a burgundy vest w/ jeans and he will wear a nice sweater pullover with jeans.

With that said, I do not think jeans are too casual at all for photos! Especially if you are having them on the beach which is very causal. We will be extremely dressed up for our wedding and so I didn’t see the need in wearing a suit for our engagements. I wanted them to look how we normally dress, and didn’t worry about incorporating wedding colors, since thats when everyone will see our colors anyways. But, you should do whatever you want! In my case it was difficult to find something that was simple so that when we look back years from now, our outifts (hopefully) won’t look dated AND something that looked good for us both - I kept finding good options for him but had a terrible time for my outfits that would coordinate well together.

I found some good outfit ideas on Pinterest of beach shoots, which is the collage with 4-5 photos. If you want to get dressed up a little, you could maybe opt for a long sleeve maxi dress, but not sure how it cold it is where you are, but I think that would look nice too!

This is what we wore for our engagament pics. I had a pair of boots with these too.

Ours were taken in October. We had one dressier outfit, and then two more casual but still nice outfits! I wore tall (knee-high) boots with the gray sweater and blanket scarf, and ankle strappy boots with the pink sweater.

We did two outfits, one casual and one dressy because we like getting dressed up. I liked that we had options in our photos. It may be worth wearing a dress.. I think dresses on a beach are so pretty. If you just do a quick photo shoot in the dress so you don’t get too cold! Plus you probably won’t be able to tell how cold you are in the pictures. You can also find pretty long sleeve maxi dresses on amazon really easily.

So if you did want to wear a dress or something you consider not warm enough, see if you can get a friend or two to tag along for the shoot. My friend recently did an outdoor photo shoot in NYC and a few friends attended to help keep her warm between shots. Someone was on coat, blanket and coffee duty.

We did two outfits one casual and one dressy. I live in Washington and had pictures on the beach this past October. It was quite cold and windy but we made it work.

We did ours in the snow and I still wore a dress. I just wore really thick tights under it with boots and a sweater.

We had our pictures taken in Wisconsin in late fall, so it was quite cold. I did three different outfits: a sweater with nice casual pants, a long sleeve dress with tights and boots, and a long sleeve shirt with jeans.

We did ours in December in Boston and it was freezing!! I was so cold but it was worth it !! We did a casual look indoors and formal wear outside in 30degrees downtown Boston

Yay! Ours are this Saturday. Our colors are rose gold and white so this is what I'm wearing. He will wear jeans and a white untucked dress shirt.
