Engagement photos and Make Up trial

Our wedding isn't until February, and we're not having our engagement shoot until September. How far in advance of the wedding should the hair and make up trial run be? Could it be feasible to have the trial run in September so my hair and makeup are done for the photos? I don't have my heart set on it or anything, but thinking I could try to maximize productivity for each of our visits to the other side of Ohio 😂

I think if you did your trials for something like engagement photos or for pre wedding events that would be great! I did a hair trial for a fancy banquet I had to attend and that was great timing aha two birds with one stone

Thank you, Elizabeth! I wasn't sure when you should go for a trial run, so I didn't know if 5 months out was too early 😉

I think that's totally fine - really nothing in your hair or facial structure will change that much in 5 months so it shouldn't matter.

I think having the trial run for your engagement photos would work perfectly. I definitely don’t think you need to have the wedding hair trial done before then. My wedding is October. We just did engagement photos in May. I did my own hair for them but I did it the way I was contemplating doing my own hair for the wedding. I’ve now decided I’d rather be pampered and have someone else do my hair on my wedding day. I actually have a hair appt today and will discuss and schedule my hair trial for the same day I’m having bridal portraits done.

I know some people like to do the trial in thr same season as their wedding to account for things like whether or not youre tan or if the humidity will affect your hair. but im having my trial 3 months before
