Often times I see engagement photos where couples are dressed formally. I do not have anything formal per se to take photos in. However, I bought this outfit I was going to wear for New Years and never wore it. I have it in blue and wanted to wear it for our photos. But does it say ‘engagement’? I’m aware I can wear what I want, but I also want the pictures to turn out nice. Should I be looking for a formal dress to wear? We’re getting married the end of July. Are the photos even necessary at this point?cfb_1531637.jpg

Engagement photos are generally for use on save-the-dates and invitations, other wedding-related communications, etc. As far as what you should wear, Im wearing jeans and a top and sandals. I want to be comfy and want to look like me more than anything.

If you feel like that jumpsuit shows your personality and you feel good about yourself in it then go for it.

This jumpsuit is nice! I think you should wear it. We got engaged on 6/6/21, marrying on 11/11/22, and just took our engagement photos on 3/27/22. I am the soon-to-bride that started planning quickly, so I had my save the dates and invitations prior to taking the photos. We too needed to try out the photographer to see what our images would look like. We also braved the frigid temps that day and did two outfit changes (formal & casual). It's never too late!

June 1 so we can give the photographer a solid 8 week cushion to get them back to us since they're happening during peak wedding season. Then we'll use them for save-the-dates

Oh nice! I wish we could have done that. But I’m glad we get the chance to take them.
