Engagement Photos - number of outfits

Our engagement session was about an hour and a half and we wore two outfits, one formal and one casual. I really like that we did two outfits, we ended up taking a lot more in the casual outfit because of the heat (FH was about to have a heat stroke in his dress shirt and tie lol).

Our session will be 2 hours and we will have at least one outfit change. We will definitely have something casual/cozy (since it will be in the mountains in the winter) but would also suffer to get some semi-fancy ones lol.

It just all depends on your photographer and how much time and how many photos you would have. You should talk to them to find out that way you can better plan a time line.

We had 3 outfits, but we shot for a little over 2 hours. I would ask your photographer what they suggest!

2 outfits your first go would be nice, to give variety. Plus, it never hurts to have a spare. We only did 1 outfit for ours and although they came out nice(!), in hindsight, I think 2 would have been better so you don’t get sick of looking at tons of pics of the same outfit.

I only did one outfit but I've had friends do multiple outfits. You can get casual and fancy !

View Quoted Comment My FH would be the same way! I'm kinda glad we will be taking them in October in Missouri so both of would be comfortable. This session won't be quite as long as yours, but I would think that there would be enough time to switch outfits if we wanted too.

I had Mine recently. We both only had 1 outfit and only an hour session. I did bring a cute scarf, though, so that’s in some of the shots. We wouldn’t have had anywhere to change and it would have taken away from our session time.

Thanks Rebecca! I hadn't thought of changing an outfit by adding accessories. Also, great point about possibly not having somewhere to change.
