It's completely a stylistic choice; however, a photo invitation conveys a more casual wedding. If that fits your plans it's great, but if you're planning on a formal event people might not understand that based on the invitation. Since you're going to have so many different sets of engagement photos, perhaps you can display some of the best at the wedding rather than use them for invitations.

Oh wow three different engagement sessions? That's different lol. Are you using the winter for holiday cards?

Yes I actually planned on that! My wedding photographer does two different engagement sessions if wanted different seasons, and I won a free session with another photographer! We have never had professional photos done together, so why not?

That's a lot, but go for it! I guess you can get practice for your wedding photos.

If your wedding is very formal, you should not use something so informal as pictures on your wedding invitations. Less formal, go ahead. In addition to Saves, engagement pictures are nice also on otherwise blank note cards, that you will use for thank you notes. Up til the wedding, every thank you should be written as soon as a gift arrives. That means you need a thank you for every shower gift, and sometimes 80-90% of your wedding gifts, before the wedding. And should not wait before starting notes after the wedding until pictures are done and then cards ordered. So do not plan on wedding photos for thank you notes. If you have several nice pics, get an assortment. Remember, anyone who gives a shower gift, then later a wedding gift, gets two different ones. And most people have thank you notes in addition to gifts, for those who have performed a service for you that is more than an everyday thing. For example, I had an aunt, and a brother, who did 4-5 airport pickups, later drop offs. So while 2-3 different cards are not necessary, if you have beautiful pics to share, why not?

I wouldn't put it on an invite, but that's my style preference. Maybe for a save the date it's more appropriate.
