Engagement photos outfit

FH and I did a semi-formal outfit and a casual outfit for our photos. Since you're taking your photos in the winter, I would definitely recommend wearing layers so you can add on/take off as you need throughout the shoot. Sweaters, vests, jackets, stocking caps, things like that. If you're not the best with makeup, I would get your makeup done and do your own nails. I have really short/weak nails and never get them done, but I use Impress press-on nails and I love them! They're only about $8 and you can find them at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, etc.

Here's the pic I took when we got engaged where I'm wearing the press on nails! They have soooo many color options and they usually last me at least a week, maybe two depending on how much work I do with my hands lol. Glad I could help!

We took ours in a nature preserve in October, so we decided to go with more of a casual look. My FH is wearing jeans, and I opted for a dress. Since yours is in winter, I would vote something with layers so you can take some off if you get too warm or add some if you get cold! I also had my gel nails done right before this, and my makeup and hair were done at Ulta. If I had to pick one, I'd do makeup because your makeup will look different when done with professional lighting.

We color coordinated with our wedding colors! We did casual and then a little fancier. I would say get makeup if you had to choose! Here are some of ours:

I choose to have my nails done. I watched a YouTube video - "Makeup for engagement pictures" by Allie Glines. I practiced twice before my picture day and did my makeup 3 hours before it was needed to ensure I wasn't in a time crunch - touch-ups before we headed out.

Wear something comfy ! This is what we wore!


For nails you can go to Walmart or riteaid to get the gel nail polish or even press on nails like another suggested! Look on pintrest for DIY hair styles!
