Engagement photos

Jessica, on October 13, 2020 at 5:10 AM Posted in Planning 0 7
I had my engagement pictures done 9/4 after already having to postpone due to my fiancé having surgery. We are now 5+ weeks past that and I have ONE photo. I emailed my photographer twice and had no answer. Then decided to text. She said she’d have photos back to us on Monday (10/12). I got an email on 10/12 with an elaborate excuse on why she didn’t get to our gallery and that she’s have them to us by Friday. I need to get save the dates out as my wedding is in May & I feel that they’re already late!!! Do I start searching for a new photographer? I don’t want to have to be stressing that I’ll never get my wedding pics back on my big day. We’d be losing our $500 Deposit but at this point the stress and anxiety might not be worth it. Please share your thoughts!!

It can usually take 6 to 12 weeks to receive professional photos back. I would probably use a different photographer for th wedding due to lack of communication.

I personally would use a different photographer for my wedding. Hopefully she will get your engagement photos to you by Friday.

I agree I would go with a different photographer for your wedding just because of the lack of communication!

I agree with all the PP. I would get a different photographer. Ours was very professional and timely. Always answered within a day for the most part and we got our engagement photos back in about 2 weeks. Every photographer has a different timeline.

I would still give her until Friday, since it's within the week, but if she doesn't send them by then, I'd do something else for the Save The Dates and start searching for a new photographer. If you do end up keeping her as a photographer, I would do communication through text going forward since it sounds like she responded better through that than email.

STDs are 6-8 months before the wedding, so you still have some time, don't worry.

That said, not even having a sneak peek is a problem. You don't know if you even like the photos! If your contract said you would have them by now, you should get it in writing (not a text) that there is a problem, and what she is going to do about it.

Also, you might want to look for a new vendor.

It can take 5-8 weeks to get your pictures, really just depends on the photographer. Don't worry though, you still have time to send your STDs! I will suggest that you get a different photographer for your wedding. If this is a stressful issue now, you definitely don't want to deal with this on your wedding day and after.
