Engagement Photoshoot Pricing?

I live in the DC area and our engagement shoot comes complimentary most of the time if you book the photographer for your wedding as well. Since I’m having a DW we’re using someone locally just for the engagement shoot and we’re paying $650 for a 2 hour shoot that includes 2 outfit changes and 2 different locations plus an engagement album.

The one photographer I asked told me $450. That was just for the engagement photos, nothing else included. Another photographer that I know charged another couple $600 for wedding pictures, a cd, and a second photographer. I would've asked her to do it but she doesn't like in this area. So yeah, I wasn't too happy with the first photographers price

Nope don’t do it shop around the guy tht did mine had reasonable prices and I only paid $300 all my pictures are nice

My photographer included a free engagement session. It was part of the reason why we chose him. I know one of my best friends also had theirs included.

Ours came with our wedding package, but my photographer usually charges $250 for it!

Depends on where you're at geographically, but we're doing a mini shoot (45 minutes) for maternity for $150. My engagement photos are included in my wedding photographers price.

Our wedding photographer offers engagement photos with her wedding package for $100. I think if she is not doing the wedding photos, it might cost a bit more.

I would also recommend using your wedding photographer for your engagement session! It's a good chance to get familiar with each other.

Our photographer included the engagement session free if we booked our wedding day with her. We paid $2800 for our wedding. If we booked just an engagement session it would have been $300. The wedding day price doesn’t change regardless of engagement session for our photographer.

I’m in Columbus, OH. If my engagement session was not included in our wedding pics (which it was), it would have been around $200-250. That seems really high to me.

I'm not sure what an actual session is, we booked our photographer at a package rate. But I think one lady told me $175 for an hour, no prints when I asked during my searching process!

Hey everyone! So I ended up going with the photographer I mentioned, but we did the whole wedding package instead of just the engagement shoot and it was a total of 2500! Which, for the quality of service being provided, I am MORE than happy about! Thank you for all of your advice!

I set a budget for what I was willing to spend and stuck to it. The first photographer was $1200, but he would travel from another state and the session would be half the day. The second photographer quoted $450 for a 2 hour session. The third quote was $200 and he would discount if I decided to use him for the wedding also. I would say keep looking until you do not question the price.

The photographer we booked for wedding had a free shoot included if you booked 8 hours. But her hourly price is $500 if you want it a la carte

I had a friend of my sisters tell me $450. I had one photographer tell me $75 (she was having a special) and another photographer tell me $125. We went with the $125 because I've seen her work and she does amazing pictures. So we're going Sat to get them done. I can't wait!
