Engagement pics - prof make up or DIY

Jessica, on September 14, 2017 at 5:51 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 33

My engagement pics are in a little over 2 weeks. I feel like I do a good job on my own on my makeup, but am having nerves doing it for something that's going to be professionally photographed. (Yes, I plan on using a professional on my wedding day for sure). Did anybody get their makeup professionally done for e-pics or did you do it yourself?

Thanks!

Oh and extra thanks if you live in Atlanta and have recommendations!

FH and I are having our engagement photo done in Kauai in October. I am having my hair and make up professionally done.

My opinion is that they're engagement photos and not something that should be stressed over. I say do your own that way you look like your normal self for those photos and not spending so much extra money.

I can't do makeup to save my life, so my sister will be doing my makeup for my engagement pictures.

I did my own and it looked great. I think it just depends on your confidence.

Oh no, I needed my makeup professionally done. LOL

My vote is pro makeup. I only spent $50 though. I say just hit up a department store makeup counter like MAC or Sephora. Don't forget to make an appointment though - some of them you can't just walk up (like on busy days like the weekend).

Doing my engagement photos and I opted in for professional makeup. Figured this was the preview to our wedding photos so why not.

I did my own for e pics and am having it professionally done for the wedding. The only thing I would recommend are false lashes if you don't have extensions, to make your eyes more dramatic. However if you have the money and want it professionally done I know a lot of people do that too!

If you feel confident do it yourself for sure! I will be getting mine done next month and plan to get mine done at kohls (department store) as Gymrat also suggested

I had mine done professionally. It was helpful to see if I what I would want on the wedding day. But my HMUA pricing was very reasonable.

I did mine myself for our e-pics, but then again I'm super easy to please and don't tend to do anything extravagant!

I did my own makeup. Just make sure not to wear anything that will give off a glare with flash

I did my own. I have a friend who does it professionally, and I thought about asking her, but I decided it was one more thing that I would need to coordinate. I don't wear a lot of make up typically and for my STDs I thought it would be better to have a more natural look so my guests can be surprised to see me all done up at the actual wedding.

My engagement photos are next month and I am getting hair and makeup professionally done. I also did this to get a feel for them and possibly book them for the wedding.

I did my own hair and make up, I think it turned out pretty well, the only thing was the fact that it rained so humidity was a big factor...but that is a thing whether you do it yourself or get it done.

I did my own hair and makeup for my e-pics. I was trying to have someone do not for me, but no one was available - they were friends who are super great at it but not pros. My pics still turned out well

I had my makeup done for our epics, and I am definitely glad I did. I did tell her I wanted to look like myself though so she only did top eyeliner (how I normally wear my makeup) and she put false eyelashes on. It came to $35, so not bad. I think you should definitely at least do false eyelashes, they really look great, especially for photos. It did look like a lot of makeup up close but it looked good in the photos.
