Engagement pics - prof make up or DIY

My engagement pics are in a little over 2 weeks. I feel like I do a good job on my own on my makeup, but am having nerves doing it for something that's going to be professionally photographed. (Yes, I plan on using a professional on my wedding day for sure). Did anybody get their makeup...

My engagement pics are in a little over 2 weeks. I feel like I do a good job on my own on my makeup, but am having nerves doing it for something that's going to be professionally photographed. (Yes, I plan on using a professional on my wedding day for sure). Did anybody get their makeup professionally done for e-pics or did you do it yourself?

Thanks!

Oh and extra thanks if you live in Atlanta and have recommendations!

I did my own makeup, I just spent more time on it. But I did get my hair blown out for it. Definitely don't stress over the engagement photos. Ours were included in our package but it helps to get you to feel comfortable with the photographer

Thanks for the tips!!! APZ thank you for the recommendation! Boxx beauty bar isn't far from me and I was looking into having everything done there, but didn't know anyone who had used them.

A friend of mine did my make up.... she was basically professional though. Then I did get my hair professionally done.

Can you have your wedding day MUA do your e-pics as the "trial?"

If that's not an option and you have an idea of what you're doing, watch some YouTube tutorials and do it yourself. Ensure you have a good coverage foundation that doesn't contain SPF, setting powder, and are heavier handed with the application than normal. Do a few looks, take pics, and see which photographs best.

Another option is to have it done at Sephora or a makeup counter.

I'm having it done professionally, so that I can decide if I want to use the same MUA for wedding makeup for myself and my bridal party.

I did my own, but I also only did e-pics because they came in the package from our photographer. They weren't particularly important to me.

I just did my normal routine, but a little more of it, I guess. I'm sure I would have looked better with pro makeup but [insert shrug emoji here].

Elizabeth - I'm hoping that the e-pics will serve as the trial for the wedding for sure! If i like the result I will absolutely book them for the wedding. If I decide to DIY, I'm just gonna cross my fingers and pray that's not the day I mess up the eyeliner Smiley smile

I'm getting my hair and makeup done, as a treat, since this is the first time FH and I have ever had real photos taken of us, and we do a lot of events/social media/conference bios, etc for which we will want nice photos. I also have a membership at a spa where this can be my service for the month so it will be very little added cost.

Not for engagement photos (taking mine in October) but when I had professional graduation photos done, I did my own makeup. Simple everyday makeup with added top eyeliner to make my eyes pop. I look great in all the photos. If you have a good photographer, they will make your face match the rest of you if it's slightly off.

I would save money if you feel comfortable doing your own or have someone close to you do it for free....I'm having my 14-year old daughter do my makeup for our engagement pictures...I don't know how to put makeup on while she's really good at it! We've already played around with different looks & she's legit!

I'm considering using the HMU trial for the engagement photos
