Engagement Pictures: Overrated or Underrated?

Underrated! We loved doing ours and we had so much fun. We also had great photographers.

Underrated. I dont think people need to go overboard on it, but some are nice keep sakes

I think underrated. My FH and I are both self conscious and shy about pictures. Our photographer is an old coworker and friend of ours, and he explained that the engagement shoot would help us get more comfortable with him and the posing/picture process. He was right! We were so much more comfortable by the end of the session. He also did my graduate school graduation pictures for me and I was already immediately more comfortable with him and having my picture taken, which I usually HATE. And the pictures were adorable to boot!

Under! I’m a picture lover so any excuse to take pictures for me is acceptable.

Underrated. It’s a special time In your life, whynot capture as much of it as you can? And that’s coming from someone who literally runs away from the camera lol

Underrated I loved doing ours

Underrated. I am so glad we decided to do engagement pictures for two reasons. 1. We got gorgeous pictures that we used for save the dates and will use for wedding decor, plus home decor. 2. We are stiff and shy in front of a camera and we REALLY needed some practice before the wedding. After seeing our engagement pictures I was able to see how I could improve to look more comfortable and natural in our wedding photos. It also will make us feel more comfortable in front of the camera on the big day!

Overrated but I’m doing them anyway

I think they're underrated. You only get one chance. We ended up not having to bc we had pro photos taken at the actual engagement.

I’m a photographer. So yes to engagement photos. It’s a happy time so why not?

I don’t know lol. I was offered two complimentary engagement photo shoots and we still haven’t used them and I’m a little under three months away from my wedding 😂😂. We still plan to use them before the wedding just not sure when.

I didnt do them. I regret it.. I have a picture I had him take of me with my hand out the day he proposed and that was enough for me.

I was so excited to have engagement photos. It was a great way to see how our photographer worked and the final products. It was definitely a great idea!

100% underrated - these are beautiful, professional shots of you and FS outside of your wedding attire, that you can display for years to come

Underrated! We just had a friend take some for us, and we love them so much! It is so nice to have some really nice pictures of the two of us to look back on.

Underrated. All throughout your relationship, it’s very rare to have really nice pictures taken of you and your spouse. So it’s nice to have great pictures to remember that moment I’m time.

Underrated for sure – my fiancé was less than thrilled to take them – but our photographer was offering them as a complimentary item on our wedding package. I'm so glad we took them! I never like to pass up an opportunity for professional photos! And it was a great way to get to know our photographer in person and see how she likes to shoot photos so that we can iron out any issues way before the wedding day!

Underrated, I'm really disappointed ours didn't work out the way I wanted them too. Schedules just got busy and weather kept pushing our shoot date back, by the time we tried them it just wasn't the same.
