She said she's been camping, swimming, showers, cleans house and even sleeps in hers. I usually wear it all day take it off before going to bed. I don't think its a huge deal and my FH also thought my friend/BM advice was a little silly but I am wondering if there is any advice on this topic.

I wear mine almost all the time. I take it off to put lotion on, but wear it when I shower or wash my hands or do dishes, etc. I take it off when we do anything where I could risk losing it like going to the river or beach.

But no I've never heard of it being "bad luck" that's dumb.

I take mine off to sleep, shower and do dishes. I wear it the rest of the time.

Never ever put your rings on the counter by the sink or heating vent. Don't want it to go down either of those.

I take all my jewelry off as soon as I walk in the bedroom each evening to change clothes. I don't put my ring or any jewelry on during the weekend unless I go out. When we went on our week long camping trip I did not take my ring. I have never heard anyone say it's unlucky to take your engagement ring off. I have however, heard that it is bad luck to wear your wedding bans before the wedding.

Thats ridiculous she said its bad luck. I only wear mine when I'm going somewhere or hanging out at home. I never wear it to work and I don't sleep or shower with it.

I take mine off when washing dishes and when handling raw meat and fish. I rarely take it off otherwise.

I only take mine off to do martial arts (as a precaution to others) and shower.

At first I was taking it off to sleep and shower and FH said I could keep it on all the time. So I did. And I started going to the gym and lifting weights. And then one day I took my ring off to clean it and it was insanely warped! My ring is a vintage style with filigree so I found out it makes it more soft. Luckily, the store was able to fix the ring and I now take it off for the gym. I also take it off for the shower, cleaning, and any cooking that involves getting my hands dirty. I sleep with it on though.

I pretty much only wear mine when I'm not working (weekends). I work worn small children still in diapers. I don't want to scratch them or risk getting bodily fluid on my e ring. Also, where I work is a very bad neighborhood, and I have to stand at the bus stop in the dark. I feel safer without it.

I take mine off to protect it. I don't believe in bad luck. Besides I think it is better luck to protect your ring. I alway take mine off when I'm cleaning with chemicals, when I'm showering, or doing anything with my hands that might damage my ring. I do usually sleep with it on.

I take it off when I work out, cook, clean, shower and when I go on travel since I don't risk it getting stolen.

Tell your friend she's crazy!! I take mine off every time I wash my hands, take a shower, workout (don't need sweat on my lovely ring) cook.

I seriously don't know where your friend got this information of it being "bad luck" for taking it off. But, I would rather preserve it than keep it on have it slow deterorate. She needs to get a life, not to be mean, but thats just silly.

Bad luck?? That's so ridiculous. I take my ring off all the time to avoid damaging it or getting it dirty. And because I don't enjoy wearing any ring ALL the time. Do what you want - there are no rules about this.

I'm not buying into the "bad luck" theory. I wear my wedding set daily but take it off when I'm home. At home I'm a Domestic Goddess (lol) and sometimes I use harsh cleaning chemicals which can be hard on my hands. When the day comes that I can get a maid, then I can keep it on until bedtime.

I take mine off when showering and when putting lotion on my hands. I leave it on when I'm cleaning though, usually because my hands aren't getting too dirty. I always sleep in it at well. I also wear it to my second job (serving so my hands are always disgusting) but hey, that's why you get unlimited cleanings, right?

Mine comes off before bed and I don't put it back on until after my shower/makeup is done. My FH was kind of miffed I think at first but I explained to him that I don't want to deal with cleaning it frequently.

It is a piece of jewelry with a lot of sentimental value, but still, jewelry. I don't wear anything 24 hours a day. My wedding band will likely come off at night as well.

I kind of marvel at the idea of bad luck when it comes to e-rings when they've only been around for what, a hundred years?

I work from home so I only wear mine when I go out. I'm paranoid a stone will fall out.

Bad luck seems a little silly. I keep mine off for showers, sleeping, swimming, putting on lotion, and washing the dog. I love my ring, but my relationship won't die if I take it off
