Hello everyone! So super random thought but the day of the wedding what do you do with your engagement ring? I know the best man and maid of honor will hold the bands until it's time to say I do but what about my engagement ring? Do I have my maid of honor hang on to that too? Do I put my engagement...

Hello everyone! So super random thought but the day of the wedding what do you do with your engagement ring? I know the best man and maid of honor will hold the bands until it's time to say I do but what about my engagement ring? Do I have my maid of honor hang on to that too? Do I put my engagement ring back on with my band after saying I do? Something I just thought of and wondered what everyone else did or is doing. Thanks!

Our best man had all 3 rings. When it was time he gave to our pastor and we exchange rings just with the wedding band. He then later did a reading of the meaning of the engagement ring and my husband place the ring on my finger.
Some people use the band on top of the engagement ring but I wanted the other way around so I had it done this way.
Another option I read was placing the engagement ring on the right finger and then putting it later on.

I read something about how the wedding band is supposed to go on first so it's closest to your heart. Then the engagement ring. So I was thinking maybe wear my engagement ring on my right hand until after the ceremony and then put it on after the wedding band

I forgot about it before the ceremony, so I just quickly slipped it off my left ring finger right before my husband put on my wedding band and then moved it back onto that finger after. I think the wedding band is always supposed to be on the inside and the engagement ring on the outside. That's what I've heard anyway.

I forgot I had it on until right before I walked down the isle. I handed it to my dad and he kept it in his pocket during the ceremony and gave it back right after.

I think I’m going to talk to my priest about it. We’re getting married in the church and I’d like for all of the rings to be blessed. I may wear my mother’s engagement ring on my left hand and switch it to the right hand during the exchanges

So I have a similar issue- I have 2 bands and the engagement ring has to be in the middle....any thoughts on how to handle this dilemma when walking down the aisle?!?

I kept mine on, took it off as DH put on my wedding ring, and then put my engagement ring back on basically immediately.

I've since switched the order, since my engagement ring is actually a smidge too big, the wedding ring keeps it in place better.

I plan on wearing my engagement ring on my right hand the day of. After the ceremony, I'll move my engagement ring on top of my wedding band.

I think I'm just going to go this route. Seems to be the easiest. Thanks!

Love the reading of the meaning for the engagement ring. What a perfect segue way!

I am definitely not soldering mine together, so I figured he would just have to take my engagement ring off pre-ceremony put two rings on me. I never thought about putting it in my right hand. That is a good idea!

I wore mine on my right hand. Then, after the ceremony, I moved it back over.

Good question. I think that I will either wear it on my right hand until the band is slipped on my ring finger and then switch it back after the ceremony OR ask my maid of honor to hold onto it during the ceremony and put it back on once the ceremony is over.

I kept mine on then switched them after the ceremony but a lot of people wear their e-ring on their right ring finger for the ceremony then add it to their left ring finger after. It is totally up to you.

I wanted to keep my ring on but it was important to my then fiancé that he put the wedding band on a bare finger so that it was in the 'correct place' immediately. He held onto my engagement ring until after the ceremony. Literally one of the first things I said to my husband was 'okay can I please have my ring back now?'

That being said, my sister kept hers on at her wedding and just switched them after the ceremony so the band was closest in. It's really a personal preference, I don't think anyone will notice one way or another.

Could you not take off all 3 and have your husband place all 3 on at once?
