Engagement shoot in a few days

I think it would look fine. Maybe to break it up you should wear some colored shoes. Just for a pop of color.

I love the dress it’s so cute! I think if he wore a blue shirt it would look cute next to you because you’d both be mushing with white and white.

I would agree with Gabriela and suggest you bring a blue shirt, or a couple of different colors along with you encase the white doesn't look right next to your dress. The photographer will be able to advise and your FH can do a quick outfit change

Where will the engagement photos be taken? What will the backdrop be?

Agree with the other posters. If you wear that dress - which is beautiful - I’d have him do a navy shirt. You’ll want the contrast for the pictures.

I think it would look fine. I do think though if he wore a dress shirt it might be cuter
