Enough time for venue?

Hayley, on October 3, 2021 at 3:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
My fiancé and I are renting a summer camp as our venue. We booked for three nights. Check in is at 3pm and departure at 11am. Guests are welcome to join us for summer cam activities (games, crafts, socializing) and then our wedding is like the camp send off.

However, with set up I'm wondering if we will have enough time to enjoy the activities with the limited time we have. Day one would be setting up for campers in a matter of hours, dinner, and a camp fire. Day 2 is camp activities. Then Day 3 setting up for wedding and the wedding. At this time the next day is available. Wondering if I should book the camp for one more night.

I would probably go ahead and get the next stay so you can decompress and chill after your wedding rather than stressing about getting out of there.

This depends on your guests. Do you think they’ll want to stay a 4th night? I personally would not take that much time off for someone’s wedding.

I wasn't planning on guests being there the first night if I add a night. That would be more set up. It's a really fun place and my fiance and I are going to rent things to do like mobile escape room, and laser tag. Smiley smile but I get taking time off. If guest can't come then we're OK with that. We just want to have it fun and relaxed for us to enjoy it too.

I just attended a "camp" wedding this past weekend. The couple got there friday afternoon, unloaded the car and ordered a bunch of pizza. about 25 guests came friday night for a campfire/pizza welcome dinner. Saturday the couple and their family set up for the wedding/reception in the morning (There were camp activities going on guests could attend like pottery painting and such) and guests came for the wedding at 3:30, which led right in to reception. They had the lodge until 8pm that night and then everyone moved from the lodge to outside by the bonfire and roasted smores and hung out until about 10pm. Then the next day everyone packed up and left!

My friends and I stayed over friday night and saturday night. Some guests just drove up and stayed for the day, some came saturday and stayed the night. It was the right amount of time, and we wouldn't have wanted more activities or a longer stay.

As with all weddings the couple said it flew by, but there was PLENTY of time for them to socialize, hang out, and not be busy with wedding stuff.
