Error message 404

Whenever my guests search is using the Wedding Wire search function, they get an error 404 message. If the guests type out the full HTML address though, they are able to see it. How can this be fixed?

    Unfortunately, the search feature has not been functional for quite some time. Smiley sad Many, many couples experience problems with it.

    Hi Stacey,

    This is a major problem. We were planning on using the site for our RSVP's but cannot due to the limitation of the search feature. I typed in a random name and i was able to pull up other peoples using the search feature. I also have a friend who just created a website not too long before us where the search feature is working for them. Is it possible to discuss this with a live person? We spent a lot of time working on this website, we really do not want to have to move it over to another wedding website.

    Sorry, I'm just another bride, like you. Smiley smile All I can share is that in the time I've posted here, countless brides and couples have expressed the exact same issue, and it has never been fixed. Although I did use WW for our website and RSVPs, others on here regularly recommend using other sites due to many issues like this with the WW websites.

    I appreciate you taking the time to get back to me.

    My fiance and I are really bummed to hear that there is no time frame on which this will be fixed. I agree, in regards to directing our guests to the URL but unfortunately, they still try to use the search feature and end up giving up when they see the error code. I understand that these things happen and it may be difficult for your team to come up with a solution but I do believe since this is not a quick fix, customers should be made aware of the problem. As a bride, I am very stressed about all the details of the wedding and now this just adds to my stress. Wedding Wire should make customers aware of this problem. Had I known, I would not have spent hours creating a site that people would have trouble getting to. Now I have to go create an entirely new website which is hours of time I could be spending planning my rehearsal dinner.

    Again, I completely understand that this stuff happens but I believe the site should make the customer experience a priority and either get this fixed ASAP or make them aware so they are not in the same situation I am.

    Thanks so much for your reply! I am so sorry, I am new to this forum and just assumed questions were just answered by employees at Wedding Wire. Your feedback is very helpful though! I am just getting close to the big day and this has become a huge stressor and the site does not seem to care or acknowledge this problem. I am going to take your advise and use another site.     Hi there!

    I have heard other brides say this was an issue for that I would not recommend that to your guests. I have a wedding wire website and have had zero issues. I just gave my guests the direct link to our wedding website and it works just fine. Give them your direct link and all should be well!

    This is an ongoing issue for us. Super bummed. Cleared Cache, and typed in the site letter for letter, no luck.
