Estimates on my lace dress being hemmed?

I'm starting to panic now as I thought just having my dress hemmed up ¾-1in would be $500 or less but now people are saying it will probably be much more... Does anyone have any insight of estimates of what it would cost? I'm literally only needing a hem. It fits like a glove everywhere else. My wedding is in 8.5 weeks and now im panicking thinking I won't be able to afford this alteration.
