Eucalyptus Table Greenery

Haylee, on February 24, 2018 at 10:33 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 2 12

Hello!

I'm looking for some advice on using eucalyptus for my table decor and where/how much to order. My tables are 8ft long, and I'd like to use either seeded or silver dollar eucalyptus to put down the center. I'm looking to do loose greens, not the thick garland. See picture attached for look I'm going for. I'm wondering for those of you who are doing/have done this:

1) How many stems/bunches would you recommend per table? (I known Sams Club sells seeded in 40 stem increments. Would this be enough?)

2) My florist quoted me $250 (I have 25 tables so it's $10/table). This seems high to me...but I'm not sure how many stems/bunches she planned to use. Does this price seem reasonable? Should I just go with the florist and not worry about buying myself?

The easiest thing is to do a trial. Go buy some greenery stems about the same length, lay them out in an 8 ft section on the floor. Count how many stems you needed to get the look you like.

Your floral quote for the greenery sounds very reasonable to me. I’d let them do it and save yourself the hassle. I know prices vary upon region, but for reference, I’m paying $50 for three silver dollar eucalyptus garlands for some signage I made. So 10 a table seems like a steal to me.

My florist was $209 for 15 ft with a few blooms. Definitely use your florist!

I think that is a reasonable quote and it would save you the trouble of stressing out about it.

UHM for 14 tables I was quoted $1,300 for 8 foot long tables. That is a STEAL of a deal.

That’s a really good price. Garland is quite expensive. Save yourself the time and stress and have the florist do it if you can afford it

Where are you located... Might hire your florist myself! I considered doing something similar but my flower/greenery budget is really small so I decided to skip it

Hi! I know this is a late post and I am not sure if you will receive this but I was wondering if you ended up using your florist afterall and how it turned out. I live in Austin and will be getting married in New Braunfels and am really interested in Misty and her prices. Thanks!
