Europe Honeymoon Ideas

Alexa, on September 13, 2023 at 3:36 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 5

Hi everyone! My fiance and I are planning on going to Italy, Croatia and France for our Honeymoon. Does anyone have any suggestions for places or sights to see? We are planning two weeks and want to section the two weeks up pretty evenly between the three countries.

It really depends on two things: Time of year, and whether you are looking for a busy/adventurous trip or a relaxing one. But without knowing those, here are my takes on each of those places!

Italy has so many beautiful places and things to see, I would allocate most of your time here if you really want to take it in. Rome, Florence, and Venice are top destinations for a reason! When we went we did 4 nights in Rome, 2 in Florence, and 2 in Venice and it was perfect. Enough time to see/explore without feeling rushed. All the main attractions in Rome are very cool and worth exploring. Florence has cool museums and we took an amazing pasta making class there, and Venice was just a good walking-around and eating city. If you're going to skip one, I personally would skip Venice.

Croatia: I think you can spend the least time here if you're looking for exploring, but more time here if you want to just relax and hang out. Dubrovnik has such a cool history (and GoT was filmed there, which my husband was excited about!) and there are so many walking tours of the city, which we loved. We also did the wall walk, which you HAVE to do if you're there! Great views but so tiring and a bunch of stairs. Dubrovnik is also pretty expensive! There are a bunch of beachy croatian towns, so lots of options for that. We also opted to go to one of the islands that is primarily non-inhabited for the day and did an awesome private guided hike. Again it was so beautiful! We didn't do this, but apparently the mini-cruises that go up the coast are super pretty and relaxing!

France: Of course Paris is a must if you've never been! So much to do, so like Rome, just look up the top attractions and see what fits your interests. And don't forget about Disney if you're into that! For the smaller towns here, it really depends on when you're going. Some of them have amazing summers (like sunset views and full lavender fields!) and others are best during the colder winter months when you can see all the snow. so look up "Best french towns to visit in summer/spring/winter/fall"

    Have fun!!

The only advice that I have here is to choose one location in each country and make that your spot to see. You dont want to try and see too many places and then feel like your honeymoon was only spent in transport and not being able to relax, see the sights, and experience the trip together. My husband and I have had trips where we did too much and it's just not quite as fun.
