Evening wedding exit ideas

Crystal, on January 20, 2018 at 2:23 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 21
Hey guys,
I'm doing a evening wedding. Getting ideas about our exit. Venue is strict about clean up. I was trying to get away from the typical sparklers, but they do look great in pictures. Fabric optic hand wands, maybe? A balloon release with a led light, which would be so pretty but get them blown up and there, sounds like a headache. Any exit ideas for evening wedding?

I have thought about bubbles...Not sure if you could see those in the evening though...

Maybe if your exit was lit up very nicely, it would be pretty and you would see them.

Ok, I saw the wands with ribbon. Those looked pretty, especially with your wedding colors on them.

I think we may skip the whole exit thing altogether. Our wedding goes until 10 pm, is at the same location for ceremony and reception, we are letting our photographers go at 9, and our venue is super strict. It doesn't seem worth the effort for us. Is it something you truly want, or something you think you have to have? Is skipping it an option that interests you?

I think it will be fun and exciting. But, honestly I don't think we will leave right then. There is only 1 hr for clean up. I don't want any additional time added or fees. Plus, leaving people in charge to get my things together is a lot. We could do a pretend exit.

Please skip the balloon release. Not good for the environment. They can also killed wildlife when they deflate and land. Personally we stayed until the end of the reception. We didn’t want to miss a minute of the party.

Was a thought. Still don't know yet. I'm staying until the party over which is 10. But, after that is the clean up

We skipped this. While it does provide for good pictures, it's a let down for the evening because your guests usually leave even though it's a pretend exit. Plus I just spent the most money I'm ever going to spend for a day so I wanted to enjoy every last second.

That's true. I didn't factor in people leaving before the exit. That's something to think about. Thanks!

We aren’t doing a normal “send off”. We are having fireworks set off & then having the car we are leaving in go through some fireworks as well like the pic I posted.

We just left. These over-the-top exits for photos ops are a trend I really don't understand. You don't have to do anything other than leaving, it will save money and time.

I really get excited to see all these ideas! At every wedding I've been to, from small to now, the couple usually just sneaks out an hour before it's over and you only find out because you don't see the bride on the dance floor anymore ;D. I'm sure it'll be awesome no matter what you choose, sorry I can't be of any help. (But I might discuss some ideas here with the FH Smiley laugh)

Chatting with people that are doing the same thing I'm doing, makes me excited also. We all have common goals, but different ideas and visions. Either way, it's going to be a great day. No, it's ok. Discuss away 😊! Thanks for the comment.

I would skip it. It’s a manufactured moment for pictures. Spend every minute you can just enjoying your celebration.

We have our photographers from 1-9. So we doing any staged getting ready photos starting at 1, and first look and photos at 3. 5 pm is the ceremony, which we want to be short, 20 minutes or less. We then move to the exhibition hall for the start of the cocktail hour, while they flip the library from ceremony to reception. That should take about 25 minutes, and then the doors are reopened to the library and the guests will mingle. We will probably do a dinner start around 630 and have the fun stuff from 7 on. We haven't decided if we are doing bouquet or garter toss. But there will be first dance, mother/son dance, cake cutting and time for toasts.

That is what we have so far.
