On my FB page I posted the following story and picture...the response I got from a guy was this: "There is no excuse for obesity" It really angered me! There are so many women out there who struggle with how they look and fit in with society...and it's people like this guy who make the struggle more...

On my FB page I posted the following story and picture...the response I got from a guy was this: "There is no excuse for obesity" It really angered me! There are so many women out there who struggle with how they look and fit in with society...and it's people like this guy who make the struggle more difficult! Needless to say, he was removed as a 'friend' on my FB.

Here's the story:

A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was "This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?"

The story goes, a woman (of clothing size unknown) answered the following way:

"Dear people, whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, seals, curious humans), they are sexually active and raise their children with great tenderness.

They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat lots of prawns. They swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia.

Yep, drug users and smokers have a huge impact on that as well.

Drinkers to a lesser extent but definitely end up with liver issues later in life if they over indulge.

Of course I've worked for companies that were able to charge smokers more for health insurance as well as not hire anyone who failed a drug test or fire someone who fails a random one, can't do that with fat people.

Jamie, pregnant women are totally different than someone who sits and eats fast food for every meal of the day...(that is not a stab at those who have no choice in what their bodies do to them) I find pregnancy a very beautiful thing, and pregnant women are not fat, they are pregnant, plain and simple.

Well most people get the surgery end up back where they were they started.. But when you get the surgery you get a lot of extra skin.. Gross skin that people get removed that insurance pays for.. But I guess your thin then your ok.. At least your not spewing over the seat onto glenn right.. God forbid you do that he is too good for that when he said he used to be overweight himself. Its not promoting to get fat but to love yourself no matter what you are whale or not... The poster didnt say GET fat it just said that it if you are you need to love yourself for who you are and not dwell on trying to be a mermaid cause basically life isnt worth it..

BUT, most women gain weight (fat) throught the pregnancy and even after they hold on to quite a bit. Your perspective is so frikken whacked, you think obese people eat fast food every meal every day?!!?!! My gawwwd.

When you say you would rather be a Whale, you are saying that you would rather be fat, I'm all for loving who you are but if you are happy being obese I honestly feel sorry for you. I will never be happy with my body and will always be focusing on making it better, it's what motivates me to run as much as I do, it's what motivates me to stay active.

I don't think that this is promoting obesity......For some people they can't get thin, but they can get healthy. There is NOTHING wrong with being a size 20, just like there is NOTHING wrong with being a size 2 or anything in between or above and beyond, if you are sucking welfare benefits because your too lazy to lose weight so that you can function in society then yes thats a problem, but if your going to the gym, eating right and doing EVERYTHING you possibly can to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This picture and post was about accepting yourself for who you are. It's about body image it's about being proud of who you are. Besides that that fact, bigger people have every right to fly and to go to sporting events just as thinner people do. There are a multitude of things that raise health insurance premiums not just obesity. You can be a bigger person and a productive member of society, and be healthy at that. There is no perfect size. There is no reason you can't be happy either way.

*facepalm* would you read my comment? I didn't say it was a stab at those who have no choice in what their body does... but the problem with SOME pregnant women not losing the weight after baby is born is because they have a cesarian, and that causes your body to slow down because it has to heal from a "major" surgery, not to mention most women don't breast feed as long as they should, I have a friend who's had three kids, two of which were cesarians and you know what? she's lighter now than she was when she got pregnant with her first, and most of that was due to how long she breast feeds her kids.

I just have to throw my 2 cents in here.....No matter if your skinny, fat, a smoker, a drug addict or a drinker its still your life and you should be able to choose to live it how you want. Even if that means your to lazy to get off the couch and exercise, or if you smoke a pack of cigarettes a day. No one has the right to judge you or make you feel bad because (you guessed it) its your life!

The reason things are wrong now? I don't get what you are saying? The reason so many people are overweight is because we have become a lazy society that's dependent on overly processed foods. Do some people have legitimate health issues? Of course they do, but why all of a sudden has this society gotten fat, wouldn't these health issues have always been there if they are as rampant as people like to believe they are?

No Glenn you don't and the fact that you said that just shows you love to stir up trouble. You don't know me and have no idea what my life is about just as I don't know you. So No...No one has the right to judge because everyones life is different and no matter how smart people think they are they have no idea what someone has gone through or is going through at that moment.

I'm not usually a rude person, but seriously? Who the hell gives you the right to judge any person, there are always going to be people you don't agree with, but that doesn't give you the right to judge them. You are not ANY better of a person then any other person, maybe in your mind you are, but every person is unique, every person has just as much right to be here as another.

She's just looking for excuses for what has become of her life, I get that. That's what every woman who is "empowered" by this thing is doing. People who care about their health aren't happy and are working to fix it. I'm cool with that, but I think it's pretty pathetic.
