Evite invitations?

I'm sending paper invites, though I made them myself and spend only $75 between them and save the dates and moving announcements on over 100 because I have the patience and the summer off to do so. If I didn't I would have done evites. I agree that it seems kind of wasteful to spend anything more on invitations that will be instantly thrown in the trash. You might have some people give you a little side-eye or think its too casual, but as a guest I'd rather have that extra money go towards more booze or a food upgrade at the wedding.

Why celebrate with decor like balloons or things that will harm the Earth you plan to cherish as a family? Our guests know that it is formal. I have loved all of the cute invites that I received over the years, but am not ashamed to say they all eventually went in the recycling bin.
