Hello! My fiancé and I finally narrowed our honeymoon options down to two choices. Has anybody visited either of these and would like to give any feedback, advice or opinions?

Wow. That's a wild review. I never felt like anyone would harm me. The way they drive there is scary AF but that's about it. We really didn't wander outside of tourist areas though. Anytime we went somewhere, transportation was arranged for by the staff.

So I just went to TA because I wanted to see the pics that guy posted. The way he describes it makes it seem like there was a murder in his room. To me it looks like somebody cut their hand or scratched a bug bite. I agree its alarming and I would want the sheets changed but I think his post is overly dramatic.

We stayed at the paradisus for our honeymoon last April and loved it. It was our first time doing all inclusive. The staff was all friendly and many could speak both English and Spanish very well. There were plenty of spots on the beach and they had people walk up and down the beach taking drink orders. Our room was gorgeous.

The beach was great but very sea-weedy and not super huge. You could walk a decent ways but it wasn't super wide. As a beach person, it was still great but I have seen better beaches in the area. They do have a rather large pool but it was more crowded.

The food was good. I felt like I had plenty of options and could get reservations. They also were very good about allergies and took special care to make all my husband's food gluten free.

Drinks were great. Best mojitos we have ever had. We spent one night walking bar to bar getting mojitos. They have tons of iguanas wandering around which is pretty cool as well.

The con to being so far from Cancun is that if you do do excursions you are the first to be picked up and the last to be dropped off so you spend a lot of time in the car.

The resort is very zen and relaxing. Not a huge party scene but very romantic. They have koi ponds lining all the major walkways. Everything is located very centrally.

The perla is adults only but is connected to a family resort and you share some restaurants and common spaces. This was never an issue for us but maybe something to consider.

There was also WiFi throughout the resort and in our room. We loved our shower. It had two shower heads coming directly from the ceiling like an outdoor shower. And a giant bathtub.

There were plenty of activities to keep people entertained.

They do a special.honeymoon thing. You get a bath with pink scented water and rose petals, a bottle of wine, and chocolate covered strawberries.

We are staying at the sister resort to this one in punta cana for our one year!

So I must admit I was pretty weirded put after reading that review but I have to agree with Elyse. That review is a complete over exaggeration. I went to look at the pics too and thought I would be grossed out...it wasn't nearly as bad as he made it seem.

We went to Paradisus La Perla last April. It was very nice and relaxing. No kids on La Perla side, so very quiet. Good variety of food and bar options. However, it did lack the night life we were looking for- the bars/clubs were open late but it was just a very mellow crowd- which could be great!! Booking excursions and travel to and from the resort was very easy. We felt very safe there and walked the beach beyond the resorts with no problems. Never an issue getting pool or beach space. They offer "Royal Service" but i did not see a reason- we even were able to eat dinner at the Royal Service restaurant. Clean, new and well maintained resort. Cleanest beach around. Enjoy!
