Excellence Resorts? Yay or nay?

I went to El Carmen for our honeymoon and absolutely LOVED it. I've been to several all inclusive resort chains in Mexico and DR and Excellence was by far the best. My husband's sister went to Excellence Punta Cana for her honeymoon and had a wonderful time there to. We chose El Carmen because we prefer the more modern decor but you can't go wrong with either one. The food, rooms, and staff were all amazing.

If you have an Excellence Club level room and inform them at booking you are on your honeymoon, you get the complimentary honeymoon package which includes a couples spa treatment and other perks. But the all-inclusive covers all the food (including room service), alcohol (including the liquor in your room), the entertainment around the resort, and all the amenities (beach, pool, fitness center, etc.).

I actually went to the excellence resort playa Mujeres in Cancun, not associated with a wedding, and had a FANTASTIC time! Everything from food and beverages was included but the additional excursions or experiences were not. They had an “activity” or show each night which was fun to attend. The food was okay, but honestly that was as our only “knock.” It was really great and they took great care of us!

I had a friend who went there for her honeymoon. They had a great experience! My fiancé and I would have too but with work and our budget it wouldn’t have worked very well.

I went for a wedding also and it was AMAZING! As a guest I loved the food options, family vs adult only options, and the nice staff. The only negative thing was my steak was over cooked at the reception but the drinks were strong ☺️ .

We stay at Excellence annually. It is an outstanding experience. We love the twos story suite with the rooftop jacuzzi and deck!

YES YES YES. I recommend Excellence ( and their family friendly sister, Finest ) to anyone who will listen! The experience is absolutely unmatched. We're even getting married at one!

At some of them (maybe all) there is usually a beach spot reserved for Excellence Club guests. Other than that, everything is included!

I went there with my wife about a year and a half ago. We loved it. You're greeted with champagne when you arrive. We got a free room upgrade. They are very nice. Every night there's some show performance, dancing. Would Def go again. We did extra activities out of the resort. Horse back riding was awesome. Not sure if you like to go clubbing, but we also went to coco bongo. Was amazing. You won't regret it. mapquest driving directions
