Extensions

AG2005, on October 5, 2015 at 1:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 26

About 2 years ago I chopped all my hair off. I love my hair short but I have been growing it out since January for our wedding. I know I will need extensions to achieve the look I am after. I have had bonded extensions before to add fun colors to my hair but never a full head. My stylist said I could wear a halo extension if I wanted that way I wouldn't waste money if I chose not to leave the bonded extensions in. I have no experience with halo extensions and honestly had to look them up to see what they were.

Has anyone used them? What are your thoughts? My stylists even said they are easy enough for me to put in and take out anytime.

I got them. They cost about $150 but my hair looks so much better with them in. I highly doubt I will ever use them again which drives me insane but I'm glad I got them. I'm horrible with hair and I was able to put them in and take them out myself. Very easy.

Price wise they would be cheaper than a full head of bonded. So I am leaning towards them but my fear is you would be able to tell. I just don't know enough about them.

I have never use halo but I use to use clip in for everyday use. I watched a few videos and practiced with them.

I'm using clip in for mine. Halo are a bit uncomfortable, at least for me - and they dont work for every hairstyle because of the wire. Clip ins are a lot easier to hide and target spots where you need more bulk and fullness, and they work for a huge variety of styles.

I LOVED my halo extensions. I have the thinnest hair. If I go to a different stylist they start to recommend Rogan thinking that my hair is thinning. I wore them forever and truly loved them. The only issue was when I washed it, my kitty played with it. When I have extra money, I want to purchase it again and keep it away from Kitty.

Oh wow thats gorgous.. IM interested because I have such thin hair... The stylist had trouble in my trial. Also, none of the styles I like will work with nearly no hair. I may look into these.

    DMN- I feel your pain.

I used Fancy hair clip ins- here is a pic down and a pic up for my wedding. I loved them- and still wear them sometimes.

Thanks Kathryn- no one could tell it wasn't my hair!

My hair is about 2 inches shorter than the extensions- so really, i use them for thickness. I have really fine hair.

Jenn that looks amazing! My hair will probably be around shoulder length by April. I am just nervous. I completely trust my stylist and have been going to her for years. She won't order any extensions until January so that we can make sure we make them to my hair color. We are playing around with highlights now since we need color to show depth. Normally my hair is so dark brown it looks almost black.

If you're iffy on the color, err on the side of being too light when you order them. If they're real hair, they can be dyed darker but not lightened!

Yep! They are super easy to put in. It takes a few practices sometimes to make sure that you leave enough real hair on top to cover all of the clips- but it is easy once you figure out where you need to start them.

I bought a weft of hair that matched my color and made my own clip in's. My stylist put them in for me and trimmed them up too. I love how it looks!

We won't be iffy on color in January. We just aren't sure what highlights I want since I haven't had them in years. If we go with the halo she will get single bonded the color of the highlights and place those in the halo so we won't be dying anything

FutureMrsJohnson that is incredible. I would be too scared to try and make my own!
