Extra income?

Tristin, on July 11, 2017 at 4:23 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 52

Are you doing anything to make any extra income to help pay for the wedding? I decided to start selling scentsy.

I'm a teacher so I'm working this summer instead of taking it off.

We just used ebates to get money back from all of our wedding purchases. We were lucky and our parents helped us with most of it.

I'm going to sell a kidney

Just kidding, but I might pick up a job waiting tables a couple of nights a week. Smiley smile

I picked up a part time job working for a banquet hall on the weekends, work is long hours, but makes me double my savings income. In addition to that, some of the managers there have offered to get me in touch with their floral companies to see if I can get a discount, and they've given me centerpiece cylinders/bowls they were planning to get rid of, so I've saved on spending money toward them.

Substitute teacher so I am working a 6 week summer school for one district and am in the process of being hired for a part time job at a grocery store. I also babysit, tutor, and house/pet sit which brings in some extra cash here and there. Im super busy but it will be worth it in the end!

Do you like animals? You can list yourself as a pet sitter on Rover.com! We started that pre-wedding, and keep it up now for fun and beer money.

Omg. I read that wrong and read "ecstasy" instead of "scentsy."

I was already working two jobs when I got engaged and was actually about to leave one because i didnt technically need it but that changed really quickly when we realized we had to pay for a wedding. FH recently picked up a weekend job waiting tables, which he did mostly to pay off my ring but he actually really enjoys it so hes continued to do it.

We're both Actors and pick up contracts when we can to make extra money (and because its our profession lol)

One way to make money is to join a nannying agency or care.com to baby sit/Nanny. I also have a lot of friends who walk and dog sit using Rover.

@kate how does ibotta work? Example: $3 back on bud light case. Is there a limit to how many times you can use it?

Teacher here. I took on a school based tutor job (home school for medical fragile student after school) during the year and now working 6 weeks of summer school

I also work at a dance studio assisting on Saturday morning with little ones September thru May. Next year I don't know if I'll do the tutoring (the child should be back in school, and quite frankly the parent didn't coming over easy (think no table or special work area, no supplies for reinforcement of good behaviors (child being taught in ABA sessions) and always changing or canceling )

Going back to my part time job in about a month. Need all the extra funds. We are saving a lot by using favors. I.e. FMIL is a caterer, friend from work making cake as a gift, etc

This is going to sound super strange but... I work for a major food brand and they do taste tests throughout the week during lunch. It's not anything huge so it doesn't affect any weight gain/loss but we get paid a little to do them. It's only $3 each time but there is a few a week. I've been going to get some extra money around the holidays for gifts since they pay it out around November lol

Otherwise, we are not doing much to earn extra money but I have always been a big supporter of donating blood and plasma. I could never donate plasma because I have low iron but I've been taking vitamins and I hope they'll work soon and then I'll donate plasma which also pays out. Honestly that's not the reason I'm doing it though.

Waitress, tend bar (every caterer on the planet is looking for help now....). Mystery shop (go to www.Volition.com for reputable companies).

Melody; don't use friendors. The horror stories abound here, literally every day.

I just applied for 3 different part time jobs, hoping one will be able to work around my schedule.

That's assuming I passed their fabulous "applicant questionnaire". I wanted to whip my computer out of the window.
