Eye lash extensions? Before and after

Ali, on July 23, 2019 at 2:30 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 8
Hi guys!
I'm debating on eyelash extension
For those who have had them do you have before and after pictures? Pros and cons?

I got them before my wedding and loved how they looked but hated everything else about them! They ruined my real lashes, the upkeep was a lot, and I hated not being able to sleep on my side or rub my eyes.

I've had them done before a few times. Fills are convenient but after a while it gets annoying and expensive for the upkeep. I love how full and long they look but after a few weeks you start losing individual hairs and I want to use mascara but they say you shouldn't. But if you're only doing it for your wedding, I say do it! More plus sides then negatives if it's just for the short term.

I haven't had them before, but plan to for the wedding! I'm getting the initial application done 2 weeks before the wedding so I can get used to them (and if I hate them I can get them removed) and then I'll get a fill 2 days before hand. The thing that sold me was not having to worry about mascara stains when I cry, which I know will happen at the wedding haha.

I haven’t done either, but someone suggested a lash lift and tint to me! It “perms” your natural lashes into a nice curl (whatever they use is all natural apparently—not like whatever chemicals they use on hair) and the tint makes it look like you’re wearing mascara so your lashes appear fuller and darker. And it lasts quite a while. I’ve heard the upkeep on lash extensions can be expensive and cause damage to your natural lashes so that’s why the lift and tint always seemed interesting to me. The salon I’m using does temporary lashes that you just take off at the end of the day (instead of one long strip it’s smaller individual pieces apparently). I decided that if I like them for my trial I’d do that, and if I don’t I’d look into getting a lift and tint

I did them. Loved them until my eyes didn't love them. It took almost 9 months to have my real lashes come back to normal length. If extensions are something you are considering definitely try a couple of rounds as soon as possible before your wedding. I'm going to stick with false lashes for my wedding day.

I debated this for a long long time... I opted to not do it to save my natural lashes. Plus our honeymoon is super long and I don’t want them to look all busted in Bali as they start to fall out!

Short term - Amazing! For someone who doesn't wear makeup having these made me look like I did. I loved them for the glamour and just waking up looking fabulous!

Long term - It's a hit or miss. It is expensive. You have to refill every two to three weeks to keep your eyelashes from looking straggly. Your natural eyelashes may suffer.

I wore them non-stop for almost two years and loved every minute of them until just recently when I had developed an allergic reaction to them. I nearly scratched my eyes out over the irritation! I felt so much better when they were off but my natural eyelashes were devasted. Thankfully they are growing back nicely and I am now content with my own every day lash look.

My recommendations: Get them for special occasions only.

If you don’t want to go with the lash extensions you can get a Mua who does individual false lashes. It’s basically the same idea as lash extensions but it doesn’t last as long, you can use the glue remover and have them off in a day.
